Living in Daily Expectation With God

What is guiding you each day? Faith or Instinct?

Are there mornings when just getting out of bed feels like a battle?

Your to-do list is long. Family matters need attention. Your business or job is demanding.

And that doctor’s appointment you keep rescheduling? You know you shouldn’t push it off again.

Let’s be honest, life is a lot!

Even as believers, we can find ourselves overwhelmed by the weight of daily responsibilities. It’s not that we don’t trust God—it’s that we’ve run out of room to breathe.

But here’s the good news:

YOU DON’T HAVE TO DREAD THE DAY AHEAD!

YOU CAN LIVE IN DAILY EXPECTATION WITH JESUS!

When you wake up in the morning, you can rise knowing that God is already in your today. Even when the day doesn’t go perfectly, you can move forward in peace and purpose.

HERE ARE 5 SIMPLE WAYS TO START LIVING IN DAILY EXPECTATION:

1. Re-examine your relationship with God’s Word.

Is Scripture your starting place each day? Spending time in God’s Word can reset your heart before your day begins. Let God’s Word become your lens for expectation—not fear or anxiety.
Philippians 1:20 – “I eagerly expect and hope that I will in no way be ashamed, but will have sufficient courage so that now as always Christ will be exalted in my body, whether by life or by death.”

Ask yourself: Am I waking up expecting Christ to be exalted in my life today?

2. Remember—God wants you to enjoy the fruit of your labor.

God’s desire isn’t for you to live constantly stressed and striving. Take time to enjoy the simple blessings around you.
Ecclesiastes 3:12–13 – “I know that there is nothing better for people than to be happy and to do good while they live. That each of them may eat and drink and find satisfaction in all their toil—this is the gift of God.”

3. Stop and examine your to-do list.

Ask yourself: What actually needs to be done today? Not everything is urgent. Prioritize what matters most and give yourself grace for the rest.

4. Look for support.

You don’t have to do everything alone.
Is there someone who can help you carry part of the load? Even small shifts—like rearranging errands or delegating tasks—can create space to breathe.

5. Listen for the Holy Spirit’s guidance.

Create space for quiet. Silence isn’t empty—it’s a sacred space for God to speak. Whether it’s five minutes in the morning or a quiet walk in the afternoon, make room to hear His still, small voice.

💡 And remember: These aren’t steps to perform perfectly. Move them around. Adjust them. Make them fit your life. The GOAL is presence, not pressure.

A PERSONAL NOTE: I know what burnout feels like. As a single mom working two jobs, building a business, helping others, and trying to keep everything running at home—I hit a wall. I was physically and emotionally exhausted. I ended up in bed for days at a time, unable to move forward.

Now? When the overwhelm creeps in, I hit pause and be still. I breathe. I invite Jesus into the moment. Because here’s what I’ve learned:

THERE IS ONLY ONE YOU. TAKE CARE OF YOU.

God has called you to live—not just survive. And He promises to be with you every step of the way. So tomorrow morning, when the alarm goes off and your mind starts racing—stop. Breathe.

LIVE IN DAILY EXPECTATION WITH JESUS.
